What is hubpages to you?

Okay newbies, and old timers, this is a list to help you determine if you are in getting too carried away with your hubpages usage:
- Your former reason to live is a faint memory
- Your movies from Netflix sit on the shelf for weeks
- You go to sleep thinking about the newest questions and wake up with the answers
- You check your Hub Traffic Statistics every 30-40 minutes
- You are working on three hubs at once
- You are considering catheterization instead of making trips to the bathroom
- You have memorized the affiliate codes
- Your day job is suffering because you can only concentrate on writing your next hub
- You wake up with red eyes because you stare too long at the computer screen
- All your flowers are dying from lack of care
- Your husband keeps wondering if you are ever going shopping again
- You go into major panic mode if your computer temporarily freezes up
- The dust in your house is about one inch deep
- You put off eating at your favorite restaurant so you can write another hub
- You have an unending urge to get back to your computer as soon as possible after you leave
- You scan all the media not for something to watch, but for ideas of what you can write about
- Your muscles in your mouse fingers are getting larger than muscles in any other part of your body
- You get downright giddy when you have come up with a new topic to write about
- You feel an excessive need for privacy
- Grooming is no longer important since you never go anywhere
- No topic is too degrading or crazy
- Your computer area has multiple stickies scribbled with different ideas for hubpages
- You have forgotten your children’s names
- You listen intently to your friends for ideas and do not finish your conversation because you are writing new thoughts down
- You mumble to yourself – people think you might have lost it and you let them think it so you can have more time to write hubs
- Your friends tell you to “get a life”
- Sleep becomes a burden
- You rarely get dressed
I’m sure you can think of some of your own, but these are some of mine and I have only just begun. I hope I do not totally go crazy because of hubpages since I am enjoying it so far.
- Hairy Men vs. Smooth Men
Someone the other day made a comment about guys with facial hair and several women chimed in their disapproval of stubble, beards and basically most body hair. I was surprised. I indicated that I do not...

It's more than a hobby! My husband thinks i have a 'lover', and feels neglected! Just kidding. He's my no.1 fan! Fun hub.
Very cute! I am passionate, no longer addicted. I Love hubpages and I love this hub. Great list, I enjoyed it...Thanks!
LOL...yes, I guess it's definitely more than just a hobby...I can so relate with your reasons. Fun Hub! :D
This is so very funny! I think I found myself in most of those things listed and my wife found me in the others!
Is this what I have to look forward to? What am I getting myself into? LOL!
When I first found HubPages, that was SO me. For the first two weeks, I did nothing but write hubs. After that, I took a vacation and when I came back, I resolved to only write hubs on Saturdays. I write them one Saturday, and usually publish them the next Saturday. That leaves my non-weekends free to do other things... like go to work, go to school, eat, sleep: those sort of things, lol.
I've become more addicted to reading than writing. I did one hub, then found all this other stuff to read about and never got back to writing again.
Great photo, by the way. Very professional. Very mico-stocky (I like to make up words, too).
I'm serious about the photograpy. Do a Hub search for 'microstock' and for 'macrostock' for information. It may not be for you, but it is definitely worth looking into.
Your hub is funny.. yes I can relate.. thanks for sharing.
Just sniffing around your hubs! (Sounds a bit raunchy!). had a good chuckle at this one, hubbing can become addictive. I am going to watch myself in future; wouldn't want the budgie water to get stale! (Me? get a life? How very dare you!) Bob
Okay, okay...I get the message. :) (Maybe I'll dust.)
Fun! Loved the lists.
Oh boy - now I feel bad - but it's nice to know I have company - thanks.
I really enjoyed your list, I'm not there yet, but you never know.
I love your lists, I have to admit, I did few of your lists :)
This is awesome, really funny. I can relate to 1 or 2 of those points!
Hi Elayne you've just described me!! I'm at the height of my addiction - just had a text from my husband - apparently we're going out tonight (on a Mon?) and then straight to bed and something about no laptops on for me! But it's a lonely life earning money at IM and without interaction with others, you'd go out of your mind - I had to laugh as I read your list of symtoms!
You made me laugh! This is funny, I am not quite at the addictive stage yet, but once I log on, I can't stop!!
Very nice hub, Consider me a newbie i have only been on hubpages for about a month and some days and i love it a lot. hubpages is one of my hobbies. LOL to your list i am really not THAT carried away with it....:)
Thanks elayne. Aloha

This list made me laugh. Yes I am very definitely addicted. I am also still very new here though so I am hoping the addiction may wear off. Will it? We do eat - but only if I am writing a recipe hub and need to photograph the food!
