Tips for slowing the aging process
I learned early on to take care of myself if I wanted to keep my looks - or at least to age gracefully. Here are a few basic steps to keep your epidermis and hair at their peak:
- Keep yourself hydrated
- Get enough shut eye
- Eat healthy food regularly
- Exercise daily
- Keep a positive attitude
You say you have heard all this before? Try not doing those things, and you will find out I am correct.
Beauty consultants will tell you it is the latest serum that will keep your skin young and supple. I have splurged on creams, toners and moisturizers that contain “secret” ingredients that claim to nourish, restore, and vitalize your skin, mane and give you that special glow. They all seem pretty much the same.
I believe each of us were born with particular genes which will determine whether we will end up with acne, thin frizzy hair, and varicose veins or lovely porcelain skin, astonishing natural blond tresses, and taut sexy legs. How we care for what we have been blessed with is of utmost importance.
I have noticed older women whose skin looks like leather or that drapes due to too much sun or lack of water to plump it up. Drinking enough water is so important for all of us.
Sleep cannot be over-rated. It is the time when our skin renews itself. Not getting enough rest jeopardizes many aspects of our health, but will for sure show up on our skin.
I love fresh fruits and vegetables and try to eat plenty of them each day. Protein and vitamins and minerals are equally as important to aging gracefully. If I don’t feel that I have eaten properly, I take supplements to make sure my body is not robbed of what it needs.
Another thing I enjoy is gardening so I get daily exercise by bending, stooping, and walking. I try to ride my bicycle when I can instead of using my car.
Of all the things I have suggested that will age us gracefully, I think the most important thing of all is keeping a positive attitude. We can choose to dwell on our imperfections, or find what is best about ourselves and use it to make the world a better place. People can overlook freckles and gray hair, but they won’t forget a warm smile.
- Stretching For Fitness
We all moisturize, wax, color, peel and buff in order to maintain ourselves, to keep the outside of our bodies toned and smooth. Resistance stretching can do the same for our muscles. So, if you want...

Very well stated! There are times when I have to work on the 'sleep' part, LOL! True, a positive attitude goes a long way, I was taught to smile, even when I don't feel like it, and found that it's worth it, before you know, you'll just naturally want to smile! Good one!
